Directions for Visiting The Woods

Hello! If you would like to visit, that sounds great!, and here’s a bit of information:

As of late 2023, the best/only phone carrier in the area is T-Mobile. I’m with them, so you can reach me at my studio or the woods. text is the best bet. On the property, there is no electricity, so there is no wifi.

Technically, the address is 101 Jackrabbit Rd, Woodland, WA. 98674. There’s a weird discrepancy between google and apple maps. You might see it as 101 Skinner instead (google maps). Here’s what you do: plug in either one, and it will get you almost all the way there. Be aware that on Little Kalama Rd, you’ll go up and up and up and switchback and forth and then suddenly it looks like you run out of road! Just take a deep breath and go straight, anticipating that the road curves to the right (and possibly gets really suddenly icy, if you’re coming in winter). Then you’ll go down and down and down and switchback and forth until you come to where there are houses again. Now you are in the watershed of the Kalama River, not the Lewis River, and I wish I knew what specific native tribes used this little valley, but fair to guess the Cowlitz.

After your 10 minutes of that, you’ll turn right onto Skinner Rd, and then just take the second left (immediately after the handmade sign). Its a green gate with an orange flowerpot hanging from the gate. Come on in.
